Our project was done on Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge. We did this interpretation on popular Internet videos and movies. This video, although a bit scattered at times, helps to give another view of the story. It portrays multiple different clips from videos that we found best portray the diverse events in the story. We simply added in the videos, trimmed them down, and dubbed over them with our voices when necessary. We chose this interpretation because it would be fun, unique, and in our minds, give an easier storyline as to what happened in the story. Almost all teenagers have been on YouTube and understand how the suggestion box can get you off topic very quickly, making it very possible that they would recognize videos from YouTube, that we inserted into our movie. This recognition and understanding of the video, allows students to attempt to comprehend why this was chosen. In doing so, it gives them another view of the story in which they would have probably never thought of before. Acting something out can be hard to follow at times. Watching a video montage allows one to stay focused as you follow the rapid change in videos, while also seeing the story from another’s point of view. All this gives the student another, and possibly better, chance of understanding the curious story line in Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge.
The Yellow Wallpaper-
A Sims 2 Interpretation

My multimedia project is entitled “The Yellow Wallpaper” and it is based on the short story we read “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It is a Sims 2 movie, using The Sims 2 Double Deluxe and I put it together using Windows Live Movie Maker. It is a silent film. It is a loose interpretation of the overall story of “The Yellow Wallpaper” which is a story about a woman possibly suffering from post-partum depression going crazy over the yellow wallpaper in a room she’s confined to. My movie shows different scenes in the story such as the narrator writing in her journal, her creeping, her having nightmares and her looking at how ugly the wallpaper is.
This could help future classes understand “The Yellow Wallpaper” a little better by showing them the story in a completely a different form of it. Instead of them just reading it, they are seeing it acted out by little Sims, which is a completely unique form of “acting” you could say. My project is an enjoyable and different way to see a text which might make it easier to remember.

We did our multimedia project on Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart”. In the video we acted out the scenes of the story, but instead of using dialogue we used songs from recent years. We picked the songs based on what was happening during the story, for example, when the younger crazy man watches the old man while he sleep we picked the song “The Creep”, made famous by the band The Lonely Island. We believe that the acting and the songs help enhance the story because Poe’s words can be confusing to some and by seeing them in video form it makes the story easy to follow. We hope that our rendition of “The Tell-Tale Heart” helps you.

Our interpertation of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart" was expressed through a silent film. In this skit, we acted out the important events that were in the story. Not using dialog help to give the audience a different view of the story. The viewer has to actually watch the movements and piece together what's happening to understand what was happening. A film with no speaking is also interesting, and it's an attention grabber in itself.
The Fall of the House of Usher

My project is a comic strip on Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher". This is a quick and easy way to learn the main points of the story from beginning to end. Although this comic strip does not show every detail that was in the story when you read it through you still know how it all turns out and the way it got there. You can read the main plot points right in front of you, it's a much easier way to interpret the story after you've read it. This interpretation will hopefully enhance your understanding of the "The Fall of the House of Usher".

The Scarleit Letter
Kate Sweetman

My project is on the Scarlet Letter in the form of a powerpoint with videos that help to explain the themes and characters throughout the novel. The first video includes several quotes from the text and pictures which would make it easier to understand the important quotes of the novel. The second video describes the important themes of the novel.

I did my project on the Scarlet Letter. This is an interpretation of the struggle to maintain the forbidden love of Hester Prynne and Dimmesdale.

My multimedia presentation is a book trailer. The book trailer is on The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. It outlines what the book is going to be about. The story starts with him at home, but quickly expands into an adventure filled with twists. This book trailer will be good for upcoming students because it will show them an outline of what the story will about.. Also it is very brief, so it will be good for students with shorter attention spans. It even gives a theme at the end that describes what Jim and Huckleberry's friendship is all about.

Our multimedia presentation is a cartoon of the important plot points in Edgar Allan Poe's short story "The Fall of the House of Usher". This short cartoon of the key parts of the story involves two main characters, the Narrator who is blue and Roderick Usher who is green. Roderick's sister comes in later during the cartoon; she is red. We hope this rendition helps future students to better understand the plot of the story by putting it in a visual form that is more summarized than the actual story. We hope that it essentially helps others to better understand the story!

This is a modern interpretation of The Fall Of The House Of Usher written by Edgar Allan Poe. Very few lines are used during the film. The film is mainly over lapped with modern music to portray the feelings/actions going on in each scene. Most genres of music from this era are used along with modern props. This modern interpretation is effective in helping students understand the story line. This is achieved by using props and music from the current era to allow the younger generation to understand Poe's writing more easily. Enjoy!
The Scarlet Letter Characterization
Rebecca Gillie
Alexis Lum

Our project shows the characterization of the main characters in Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter. We chose to use visual and audio media to showcase important features of the characters. We represented each character through pictures and quotations from the book. We also chose songs that tell about the characters’ relationships. Our project could help future students comprehend the complex relationships between the characters in The Scarlet Letter. It helps relate the characters to more recent artistic works. Our project uses media other than writing to express the characterization of Hester, Pearl, Dimmesdale, and Chillingsworth in The Scarlet Letter.
Story of an Hour
Chanel Coleman Michelle Abney Barbara
Sardayah

We did our multimedia project on “The Story of an Hour”. The story seemed deep and very serious, so we wanted to take a twist and make it a little funny. We included four confessional scenes where Characters/Actors express their emotions and thoughts. This might help people understand what actually happened throughout the story, because the first time I read it I was a little confused. Although we took the funny aspect, we also wanted to hit the main points of the story like Mrs. Mallard feeling free and dying of heart failure. Warning- the jokes may be corny and stupid, just go along with it :).

The Tell Tale Heart
Josh Billings

My multimedia project is on "The Tell Tale Heart" in the form of a power point. I think this interpretation can help students to understand "The Tell Tale Heart" well because it is a quick and effective way of learning the story. My power point covers all the main plot points, and also gives the viewer a descriptive visual through numerous pictures. There are also sounds used in my power point. The sounds are used to set the mood of the power point, and to help the viewer better understand the events that take place in the story. I also added the link to a youtube video that I though was pretty funny.
Rip Van Winkle
Taylor Malantonio

My interpretation of Rip Van Winkle was shown through a future movie bilboard poster. The "movie poster" shows the scene from Rip Van Winkle when he wakes up and realizes that he's been asleep for years. The poster is supposed to interest kids to learn more about the story by either "watching the movie" or by reading the short story. The poster shows a scene from the story that will interest readers to check out Rip Van Winkle by Washington Irving.
